Just steps away from amazing dining options, museums and shopping. In early May 2014, we traveled from OKC to Las Vegas (NV), and decided to stop over in Santa Fe for a day to rest and see the sights.
We selected Hotel Chimayo based on the many wonderful reviews on Trip Advisor and the proximity to the Plaza. We were not disappointed in the least. Just steps away from amazing dining options, museums and shopping.
Hotel Chimayo offers a very quaint and comfortable atmosphere. Everything from the staff to the wood burning fireplace we felt warm and welcome. Upon check-in, we were greeted with a map of the Plaza and recommendations to incredible dining options, as well as a local discount card to various eateries and shops. In early May, the weather was cool and rainy, so we were delighted to come back to our room with the option to warm-up by a blazing wood-burning fire. Please note: must request a staff member to start the fireplace. We requested this service twice during our two-night stay, and the request was responded to quickly.
The room (Oratorio Deluxe DLB Queen) is large and comfortable. A long hallway separates the two-room suite. The first room is spacious with a sofa, TV, wet bar (microwave & mini fridge) and a fireplace. The second room held two queen beds with luxurious bed linens, a TV and a chair/ottoman. My only small complaint was the bathroom, as it is a bit dated and small.
Overall, we had a grand experience in Santa Fe and if we decide to explore the area again, we will definitely stay at Hotel Chimayo.

Felt like Santa FeVery nice hotel. We loved the small suite... fireplace, sitting room, etc. Each night, someone would bring wood and start the fire for us...great in the winter. The rooms were tastefully decorated and comfortable.

Local FlavorI prefer not to stay in chain hotels. I sought out something different for our swing through Santa Fe and Hotel Chimayo was spot on!
I initially picked it because I read reviews that they had fireplaces in the room, gasp! Wow, I'm sold. Turned out that it wasn't really cold enough and we were so tired that we didn't even figure out how to summon the fireplace boy to light it but for whatever reason I liked knowing it was there in case I so desired.
The lobby and the grounds were beautiful! It felt so inviting and warm when we arrived late in the evening with rain. Lots of woodwork and local flavor. We had a ground floor room but other rooms have balconies. The front sitting area with fireplace is the clincher. The rustic southwestern decor was tasteful and inviting. The bathroom was small but very clean. The bed was huge and amazingly super comfy. Really, the bed was so great. So many plush pillows and fluffy blankets. Slept so well! The room itself was quite large. Two rooms in one. Two large armories and a full closet. Microwave, coffee maker and tiny bar sink w glassware. Outdoor cafe style patio area to drink your coffee. It could probably use some modernization here and there but we were very pleased.
Parking was easy, there's a lot underneath for $16 a night. You can park on the street for free but would have to wake up early to feed meters. It was worth it in my opinion to have the car so accessible and out of the elements.
Friendly service and reasonable prices. A block or two from the main central plaza. Completely recommend. We would definitely stay here again if we were in the area.

Welcoming Atmosphere and Great LocationGood: Location, size of the room, and a friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Location Tip: Across the street from the New Mexico History Museum and a block from the Museum of Indian Art.
Just a block off the plaza, the Hotel Chimayo sports comfortable rooms, a delightful interior courtyard, and a welcoming staff. Nearby restaurants and museums make this an ideal location for a great Santa Fe experience.

Birthday WeekendMy husband and I stayed here for a birthday weekend. It was great! My only complaint is the $16 parking fee per day but there is free parking on Sunday's to save a little money. You can't beat the location and it's a BEAUTIFUL hotel. We also had 2 balconies and a fireplace. I would stay here again, and again!

Great WeekendJust had a great weekend at the Chimayo Hotel. Yes, the location is perfect. You can
walk to everything. The hotel has great customer service which is hard to find these days. Jordan at the front desk was WONDERFUL. The underground parking is a very nice option. The hotel is extremely beautiful, clean, the most comfortable beds with so many pillows!!! We loved it and will continue to stay here on all future trips to Santa Fe.

Great VisitAdrian checked us in. He was very helpful and friendly. Room was immaculate. 2 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath, multiple fireplaces, full kitchen, 2 balconies, and huge living room. List goes on and on. Best suite I have ever stayed in. If not the best room on the plaza, I would be surprised. Hotel close to everything that matters. Wife and I have stayed here several times and this was best stay of all our great stays.

Loved it!Great location by the Plaza, comfy bed and so cute with all the Ristras hanging off the hotel.
Only spent one night and could of easily stayed for more. The check in process was quick and they were very friendly. Parking is under the hotel and was $14 a night. Would recommend.

My Stay at Hotel Chimayo
I love to travel and have traveled all over the world - always trying to find unique and exceptional hotels. I must say that the staff at Hotel Chimayo is by far the best I have encountered. They are - to a person - concerned about the guests' comfort and well-being. Jordan at the front guest always smiles, makes inquires as to stay/comfort and remembers everyone's name. I saw an example of this great service as I was checking out on Sunday: A couple (from Texas) had enjoyed their stay and wanted to reserve a certain suite for Thanksgiving weekend. The suite was already reserved and the man was visibly upset. Jessica - at the front desk - worked with him in the most polite and respectful way........got them into another suite and all left happy and smiling.
